Garnier 2 in 1 Soothing Makeup Remover Review

You might remember seeing this in my haul post ages ago but only just had the chance to write the full review

I'll be introducing to you my favourite eye makeup remover I have ever tried - but then the previous ones I tried were ones that were really cheap Superdrug own brand, the old one not so sure about the new one because they have repackaged their own brand products recently. The other one I tried was from Wilkinsons own brand skin therapy which costed 98p. Don't buy those because they don't remove makeup! The best they do is remove eye shadow but leave  your eye liner and mascara completely intact even Vaseline does a better job then they do!

Anyways back to the Garnier Soothing 2 in 1 makeup remover, I got my from Superdrug when it was on offer, I think it was 2 for £3.99 which is a really good deal, for one bottle you can get it for £2.99 which is still a good price.

It's a 2 in 1 makeup remover so it can be used for eyes and face. I usually remove my eye makeup using this and then use the remainder to remove face makeup before using my facial cleanser.
It has two parts, the blue oil part which is what is needed to remove heavy duty makeup like waterproof mascara and the white part which to be honest I'm not really sure for its for.

It's suitable for sensitive eyes and skin because of the 3 nos properties, no perfume, no alcohol and no rubbing - so basically no drying out the skin because there's no alcohol and no premature wrinkles!
Even though it says there is no perfume there is a floral scent to it, probably from the plant extracts

This is from one swipe and look all the makeup is gone!

Pros
  • removes waterproof mascara and gel eyeliner
  • affordable
  • no rubbing
  • has a pleasant floral scent
  • does not irritate eyes if it gets into eyes
  • easy to get here in the UK
Cons

  • have to shake it every time
Will I buy it again?
Already have!

Collection (2000) Lasting Perfection Concealer Review

Hey guys how have you been? Sorry for the lack of proper posts been so busy with school :(
Today I will be reviewing my first concealer, this is the collection (2000) lasting perfection concealer.
I can't remember I mush I spent on this but I checked the Boots website and it costs £4.19. I got mine from Superdrug

I bought this before I got into reading beauty reviews, this seems to be a pretty hyped up product and probably one of the most mentioned products from collection 2000.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Shadow In On and on Bronze

Today I will be reviewing a super popular Maybelline colour tatto in On and on Bronze.
This may be known as Bad to the broze in other places.
I don't really understand why they've got different names because they are the same product lol

from Maybelline website :
Dare to wear our longest-lasting shadow.
Our ink technology creates super-saturated color.Cream gel smoothes on for vibrant color that does not fade.

This retails in the UK for £4.99 which is really good considering you get a lot of product

I chose this colour because this was the most wearable and pigmented colours from the UK range, they only have 7 colours here in the UK :(

I usually wear this under my eye shadow, usually my eye shadow would of faded within a couple of hours but with this it lasted the whole day!

mini makeup haul

I went to superdrug to buy some makeup just before school started for the last time before I have to worked really hard again :(

I saw that all maybelline products were 2 for £10 so I decided to take advantage of it but it turned out that I only saved like £3 something because I didn't buy efficiently if that makes any sense at all lol

I also bought a makeup remover because is was 2 for £3.99 which is really good for a good makeup remover

What I bought : Garnier Soothing 2 in 1 makeup remover (£3.99 for 2), Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bad to Bronze/ On and On Bronze depending on where you're from (£4.99) I should of bought something for expensive and Maybelline Illegal Lengths Waterproof Mascara (£8.99)

i will be doing reviews on these soon once I had a chance to use them and test them out.

Hop you guys have a good day.

August 2012 Favourites

Today I will posting my first monthly favourites post.
Okay I might not do this every month but I'll try my best :)

So in this post I've decided as well as posting my favourite beauty products of the month I will be also sharing with you guys some of my favourite entertainment like favourite drama/book/film and music, not necessarily new songs/ drama but basically my favourtie things of the month.

Also because school has started so I won't be able to post much :( I will be very busy studying but I will try my best :)

I'll start off with beauty products

Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream (review here)
might not be best suited for summer for me because this is for dry skin and I have oily, but does have SPF 25 and feels very light on the skin.

Avon Big Glossy Lip Pencil (review here)
Nice sheer natural colour for the summer which doesn't dry out the lips

and finally MUA intense pencil eyeliner in Snow White (review here)
pigmented, creamy and only costs £1!

Favourite Drama of the Month

To the Beautiful You

This is the korean version of Hana Kimi with f(x)'s Sulli and Shinee's Minho.
So far it is very funny, Sulli's acting is very good in my opinion and Minho is so hot!
Lee Hyun Woo is so cute and funny and for those ZE:A fans there's also Hwang Kwang Hee.

Favourite Songs of the Month

Super Junior - Sexy Free & Single

As you guys may know I am a huge Super Junior fan and I love this song, didn't really like the 'Sexy, Free & and Single, I'm ready too. Bingo!' bit, but now Its grown on me!
Love Yesung's sexy voice and Donghae has so many parts!!
They're my biased you see :)
Not so fond of they're other song spy though, love the chorus but the happy nursery rhyme bits NO.

T-ara - Day by Day
Even though Hwayoung has left the group her rap is awesome, love this song though the dance version of the music video keeps on flashing so be careful if you don't like flashy lights:(
the drama version is also quite cool, check below

MUA intense colour eyeliner pencil review

Today I will be reviewing my first ever MUA product, intense colour eyeliner pencil in snow white, I got it from superdrug for £1. It's such a bargain!

For those of you who haven't heard of MUA which stands for Makeup Academy it's a very affordable brand with all the products under £4!

You can find MUA products either  from Superdrug or from their website . They ship internationally as well.

Description from MUA
"Intense Eye Liner Pencil which produces a precise and well defined line for accentuating the eyes with an intense colour finish."

I originally bought this to line my waterline, I have read that lining your waterline with white liner will make eyes look bigger but when I tried it, I looked really weird so I ending up using this using it to highlight my inner corner and my brow bone.

It stays put the whole day just with slight fading, the pencil is also really creamy so it goes on really smoothly with no tugging at all

A sharpener is also included in the lid

the swatch look how pigmented it is!

What I like:
  • Cheap only costs £1
  • Creamy and soft
  • There is a sharpener in the lid
  • Very Pigmented, a little goes a long way
  •  blends easily - good for highlighting!
What I didn't like:
  • When applied on waterline can uneven a bit uneven
Will I buy again: Yes, I want to try the other colours

Overall I think this is an amazing eyeliner especially with the cheap price tag that comes with it  and a sharpener!

The Colour Carousel is doing a giveaway

The Beauty & Brains Tag!

I saw Midnight Violet do this tag and she tagged everyone to do it so I decided to give it a try :)
this is my first tag post so i hope you like it
Favourite Book -
I like reading fiction books, romance, romantic comedy and anything to do with psychology or something that I have watched a film on. I'm currently reading The Hunger Games after watching the film and I'm really enjoying it
Favourite Quotes -
I don't really have a favourite quote but maybe 'I don't know?'

English or Maths -
I do like both but I'll say that I feel I better at Maths, seeing that my grammar and spellings have never been my strong point and that I'm doing Maths at the moment at sixth form

Science or Art -
When I was young I loved drawing but I'm not really good. I didn't like science when I was young and I don't know what got into me in doing sciences now, its probably why I'm not doing very well :(

Name five music artists or albums that changed your life -
Wow that's a big statement! I love kpop but would I say its changed my life?
maybe I am pretty obsessed with it and will pay more attention to things that have south korea attached to it.

Twins - ok they're not kpop, they're a hong kong girl group but they were my first idols and my first album were from them as well

Wonder Girls - the first kpop group that i started to listen to

Super Junior - I'm obsessed with them, My favourite kpop group since I started listening to kpop

T-ara - i love their songs, they have some of the best kpop songs in my opinion, especially with the recent scandal, I still like them and they remain as my favourite girl group. I mean no one knows what really happened and I think they're the ones getting cyber bullied by neitzens and not the ones doing the bullied.

Psy - Oppan Gangnam Style! he might not have the best looks but he sure makes some amazing music and has made me realise kpop isn't just about idol groups, solos  are still able to shine!

Favourite & Least Favourite Subjects at School -
My favourite is psychology, i love it! I want to study it at university
least favourite would be critical thinking, urgh its so boring and useless, I was surprised I passed it!

Favourite 'Celebrity with a Brain' -
Masuwaka Tsubasa - she must have some great ideas to have success in her makeup brands dolly wink and candy doll

If you could study anything anywhere, what would it be?
Psychology, its what I want to study at uni
and makeup - i want to improve on my makeup skills

What's your nerdy little secret?
I really enjoy reading?

Favourite beauty Guru(s), who you admire for more than their love of beauty/fashion -
The first beauty guru that I had watched is Michelle Phan, I used to just watch her 'fun' makeup videos like the Lady Gaga Bad Romance and the Anime inspired ones but since being into makeup I have been watching her other videos too. She's so down to earth and funny, never get bored of watching her videos.

Bubzbeauty - My friend introduced me to her. She is so bubbly and funny love both her beauty and comedy channel. Her DIY masks are amazing but I just haven't had a chance to try them all. She is from Hong Kong like me so I feel proud that a Hong Kong girl has made such success internationally.

PBunnieP - She doesn't have that many tutorials but I love watching her review videos, they're very detailed. Apart from telling you her own experience she researches how the ingredients will affect the product. What I admire the most from her is that she doesn't script her videos! What you hear her say on the videos is what she thinks at the time shes recording.

If your channel/blog didn't focus on Beauty/Fashion, what would it be?
Drama reviews. I love watching dramas, it has always one of those things that has kept me going in life ;)

Name some things that you're obsessed with that other people would find strange or geeky -
Super Junior and kpop, my friends find them girly and don't understand my love for kpop since i don't really understand korean. As you say geeky maybe the number of languages i know  but them most of my friends in our group can speak at least two lanuages.

Name five people (excluding friends and family) who inspire you -
I kinda feel these questions are kind of repeating themselves?  Bubzbeauty and Michelle Phan from being normal girls to super Business women

Who's your intellectual soulmate -
No one. I haven't found one yet

I hope you guys liked this tag and I tag everyone to do it!
share me a link to your tag in the comments section :)

Skin79 VIP Gold BB Cream Review

Yay first post of September! Today I will be reviewing my new bb cream , skin79's vip gold bb cream
it has whitening, UV protection spf 25 PA++, Wrinkle Improvement

My friend got me this from Hong Kong, I was actually hoping she will buy me the hot pink label but maybe I didn't tell her which one I wanted so she bought this one instead? Doesn't matter cos i really like it! :)
From Skin79 North American Site:

Wow a lot of engrish there !

ingredients
print screen from skin79 website

authorisation  sticker. remember to look out for it!

it has a slightly grey tint to it

blends into skin nicely

left: before,                  right: after
I haven't really noticed any whitening to my skin, but than i don't wear makeup everyday, and I'm not really at the stage for wrinkle improvement so I'm not sure about that. For SPF I don't think i have gone any darker - thank goodness I'm already quite tanned!

I love the scent to this bb cream, I've read some reviews saying it has a floral smell well I think it smells bit like wheat. I really enjoy putting skin on my skin lol  ( it does say it contains rice grain on the skin79 website so maybe its that which makes it smell nice??)

What I like :
  • feels light on the skin, doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup
  • looks natural
  • doesn't look cakey
  • brightens my complexion
  • covers pores on face quite well
  • nice scent
  • very moisturising, doesn't dry skin out
  • easy to apply - just use your fingers!
  • blends easily
  • the packaging is very sleek
  • doesn't go on my glasses
What I don't like:
  • oil control not very good, but then this is for dry skin and i have oily skin so its the wrong bb cream for me
  • doesn't cover the pores on my nose as well, sinks into them a bit
  • doesn't cover spots
  • the pump can be a bit unhygienic as some of the product is till there after you pump it out, I saw a fake one on a blog and it can a cover over it , that would make it more hygienic, shame the real one doesn't have it lol
  • not very travel friendly, its definitely more of a on your dressing table kind of bb cream cos of its packaging
  • can't see how much there is in the bottle :(
  • would have to either buy online or in Asia
Will I buy this again?
Yes! but I want to try the hot pink one before I buy this one again because that one has sebum control which is more suited for oily skin.
